Abstract 'GlassFish'

GlassFish: An Open Source Java Application Server for the Java EE 5 Platform

Date and Time

GlassFish is a free, open source application server which implements the newest features in the Java EE 5 platform. Java EE 5 is the next version of the very popular J2EE Platform and delivers significant enhancements focussed at ease of development. This session will cover the motivations behind this project, its roadmap, the community participation, and provide pointers to how you can join and contribute. It will also demonstrate the new and cool features being implemented in GlassFish such as fast startup and deployment, NIO based HTTP engine, and high performant web services using Fast Infoset. The session will present how GlassFish can be used to create next generation Web GUIs using AJAX, and demonstrate the AJAX-based Web applications from the Java BluePrints Solutions Catalog project.
