Advanced Wireless Java Programming with MIDP2.0, WMA and MMAPI
Abstract
Java technology took the wireless world by storm when the Java 2 Platform, Micro Edition (J2ME platform) was first introduced for mobile devices, starting in 1999. The latest updates to the core components of the J2ME platform, including both the Mobile Information Device Profile 2.0 (MIDP 2.0) and enhancements to the multimedia and messaging capabilities using the Mobile Media API (MMAPI) and the Wireless Messaging API (WMA), enable developers to write sophisticated wireless applications for cell phones and handheld devices coming to market now and in the near future.
In this hands-on lab, developers will learn to write sophisticated Java wireless applications using the J2ME platform Mobile Information Device Profile 2.0, Wireless Messaging APIs, and Mobile Media APIs. The hands-on lab exercises will provide attendees with an opportunity to develop and deploy J2ME applications using the J2ME Wireless Toolkit 2.2.
