Kick starting the Content Repository. AJAX meets JCR
Abstract
This session introduces r-jax which stands for "Repository backed aJAX" and explains how it addresses the client-side persistence issue in a standards oriented fashion.
r-jax combines the heavyweight aspects of JCR (Content Repository API for Java Technology API as specified by JSR-170) and a lightweight, client side style of developing full fledged applications.
With JCR featuring a true unstructured Data-First approach, Versioning, Search, fine grained access control etc. it is the ideal persistence layer for client sided javascript.
This session gives a brief introduction to JCR and shows how applications can be developed extremely efficiently and can leverage the rapid prototyping aspects and flexibility of Web 2.0 and at the same time operate completely in a secure and reliable environment that is provided by a standardized content repository.
Be prepared to see the typical "creating a weblog in 15 minutes from scratch" with a twist. The twist being that there is not a single line of server code involved, just an r-jax enabled out-of-the-box JCR content repository.
r-jax introduces a paradigm shift in development for both ajax development and also content repository based enterprise applications.
