Understanding Adobe AIR in 15 minutes

Abstract

Adobe AIR, formerly code-named Apollo, is a cross-operating system runtime that allows developers to use their existing web development skills - HTML, JavaScript and Flex/Flash - to build and deploy rich Internet applications to the desktop. In this session we'll give you an overview of AIR's features like the windowing API, file system access, drag and drop to the desktop and the local database engine - based on SQLLite - that comes with AIR.
